Redevelopment in Established Residential Areas
In established residential areas, redevelopment of existing buildings or infilling of vacant sites for housing must maintain density and character consistent with the surrounding area.
In established residential areas, the Council will only support proposals for the redevelopment of existing buildings, or the infilling of currently vacant sites (including extended garden areas) to accommodate new housing, where:
(a) The density proposed is not significantly higher than that found in the established residential area; and
(b) The pattern of development is in keeping with the overall character, environmental quality and residential amenity of the established residential area.
