Road Signs and Markings in Historic Areas

Road signs and markings should be located and designed to respect the character of conservation areas, avoiding unnecessary duplication of signs or posts.

Road signs and markings can also have a significant impact on the appearance of streets. The Department will therefore take into account the character and quality of conservation areas and other areas of townscape importance in the location and design of traffic signs and ensure that there is no unnecessary duplication of signs or posts.
