Development Plans and Archaeological/Built Heritage Considerations
Development plans must account for implications of land-use zonings and development locations on archaeological and built heritage features and their settings, typically identified through Countryside Assessment.
In preparing development plans the Department will take full account of the implications of proposed landuse zonings, locations for development and limits of development on all features of the archaeological and built heritage and their settings within a plan area. Such features will normally be identified as part of the process of Countryside Assessment carried out in association with plan preparation. Development plans may also include local policies for the protection and conservation of specific features of the archaeological and built heritage.
