Visibility Splays and Access Control
Good visibility is essential for safety and convenience of all road users. Applicants must have control over land required to provide visibility splays and ensure they are kept free of obstruction. A condition will normally be imposed requiring access works including visibility splays to be carried out before development takes place.
Whatever the type of access, good visibility is also essential for the safety and convenience of all road users. The Department will expect applicants to have control over the land required to provide the requisite visibility splays and ensure that they are retained free of any obstruction. A condition will normally be imposed requiring that no development shall take place until the works required to provide access, including visibility splays, have been carried out.
