Policy DM 16: Telecommunication Facilities and Digital Services - Siting and Design Requirements
Developers must demonstrate that proposals are sited and designed to minimise visual and environmental impact, and for new masts must show that sharing existing structures is not feasible or that a new mast is the better environmental solution.
Developers will be required to demonstrate that proposals, having regard to technical and operational constraints, have been sited and designed to minimise visual and environmental impact. Where the development proposal involves a new telecommunications mast it must be demonstrated that the sharing of an existing mast or other structure has been investigated and is not feasible; or that a new mast represents a better environmental solution than other options.
