Environmental Integration of Public Utilities
Public utilities must achieve a sustainable balance between development and environmental protection by respecting landscape and townscapes, protecting amenity, and investigating alternative routes or sites to identify and mitigate adverse effects.
It is necessary to achieve a sustainable balance between prosperity and protection of our environment. Therefore, it is important that public utilities, including major projects, respect and visually integrate into the landscape and townscapes, as well as protecting amenity. The existence of alternative routes or sites should be investigated, as well as identifying any adverse effect that the development could cause.
