Rural Development Strategy 2007-2013
The Rural Strategy provides a strategic framework for rural policy addressing diversification of the rural economy, protection of the rural environment, and sustainability of rural communities.
The Rural Strategy 2007-2013 was published by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) on 9 October 2006. The Strategy provides a broad strategic context for rural policy which takes account of the aims and objectives of the RDS. Key themes include diversification of the rural economy, the protection of the rural environment and the need to sustain rural communities.
