Protection and Integration of Natural Heritage Through Key Site Requirements

Development plans may use key site requirements to protect and integrate natural heritage features, and should identify and promote green and blue infrastructure to enhance open space and habitat connectivity around settlements.

In addition, plan-makers may seek to protect and integrate certain features of the natural heritage when zoning sites for development through 'key site requirements'. In addition development plans should seek to identify and promote green and blue infrastructure where this will add value to the provision, enhancement and connection of open space and habitats in and around settlements.
