Weight to be Attached to Natural Heritage Designations
Planning authorities must give appropriate weight to designated sites of international, national and local importance, priority and protected species, and biodiversity and geological interests in the wider environment when making planning decisions.
In taking decisions, the planning authority should ensure that appropriate weight is attached to designated sites of international, national and local importance; priority and protected species; and to biodiversity and geological interests within the wider environment.
