Sustainable Development and Biodiversity Objectives

The Sustainable Development Strategy identifies halting biodiversity loss as a strategic objective and seeks to balance responsible resource use with environmental protection. The Regional Development Strategy 2035 commits to sustaining and enhancing biodiversity.

Furthermore, the Executive's Sustainable Development Strategy identifies striking an appropriate balance between the responsible use and protection of natural resources as a priority area for action and in pursuing this identifies 'take action to halt biodiversity loss' as a strategic objective. This commitment is further reflected in the Regional Development Strategy (RDS) 2035, launched in March 2012, to sustain and enhance biodiversity.
