Equality Impact Assessment (EQIA)

An equality screening is undertaken at key stages of the LDP in accordance with Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998 to assess potential impacts on protected groups and ensure promotion of equality of opportunity and good relations.

Equality Impact Assessment (EQIA) – In accordance with Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998 and the Council's Equality Scheme, an equality screening is being undertaken at each key stage of the LDP. The purpose is to determine any potential impact on Section 75 groups to ensure that the Council has fulfilled its functions to have due regard to the need to promote equality of opportunity and to promote good relations between persons of different religious belief, political opinion or racial group. Where a potential impact is identified, the Council will undertake an EQIA.
