Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA)
The LDP is subject to Habitats Regulations Assessment under the Conservation (Natural Habitats, etc.) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1995, which evaluates potential impacts on Natura 2000 sites including Special Areas of Conservation, Special Protection Areas, and Ramsar-listed wetlands.
Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA) – This assessment is being prepared under the provisions of the Conservation (Natural Habitats, etc.) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1995 (as amended) which transposes the EU Birds and Habitats Directives. It considers the potential impact of the provisions of the LDP on Natura 2000 sites, comprising Special Areas of Conservation (SACs) and Special Protection Areas (SPAs) which afford protection to habitats and species listed in the Habitats and Birds Directives, as well as any site listed under the Ramsar Convention to protect wetlands of international importance. The HRA aims to assess possible adverse effects on these sites as a result of the implementation of the LDP.
