Planning permission for new hotels, guest houses or tourist hostels in the countryside will be granted in specific circumstances: either replacing an existing rural building or as new build on the periphery of a settlement.

New / Replacement Buildings
Planning permission will be granted for a new hotel / guest house / tourist hostel in the countryside in the following circumstances and will be assessed under the specified criteria:
Circumstances
(a) The replacement of an existing rural building;
(b) A new build proposal on the periphery of a settlement.
