Bunk Houses and Camping Barns

Outlines planning policy circumstances under which bunk houses and camping barns may be acceptable, including new build in designated areas, dispersed rural communities, farm building conversions, and existing building reuse.

• New build proposals that comply with local policies in development plans, for example within tourism opportunity zones or other such areas as may be designated for tourism development by the Plan. • Proposals within Dispersed Rural Communities, as designated in some development plans – PPS 21 (Policy CTY 2) • Proposals for a bunk house or camping barn involving the reuse or adaptation of existing farm buildings, or exceptionally a new building on a farm – PPS 21 (Policy CTY 11) • Conversion and reuse of an existing building – PPS 21 (Policy CTY 4)
