Passive resistance measures

Passive resistance involves permanent flood mitigation built into the structure, generally more feasible in new developments where the property is designed to exclude flood water. This typically requires structural modifications and expensive implementation.

Passive resistance is where the flood mitigation is permanently in place. This is generally more feasible in new developments where the property is designed so that flood water is excluded from the building during flood events. Such mitigation methods are usually expensive as they will require structural modifications to the building.
