Justification and Amplification - Pluvial Flooding Definition

Pluvial or surface water flooding results from high intensity rainfall that overwhelms drainage systems, causing water to flow overland and pond in ground depressions.

Pluvial or surface water flooding occurs as a result of high intensity rainfall which overwhelms natural or man-made drainage systems resulting in water flowing overland and ponding in depressions in the ground.
