Public Transport and Land Use Co-ordination

Consideration will be given to the following as part of the process of co-ordination: • the development of spatial land use patterns at the local level, which support existing public transport services and in turn inform future investment decisions in the public transport network; • the location of stations on the rail and bus networks to minimise the need for interchange between services and modes, while maximising the convenience of interchange where and when necessary; • the location of park and ride/share sites to facilitate the interchange from private car to public transport; • prioritising sites adjacent to rail stations and major bus stations within urban areas, for development generating a large number
