Infrastructure Requirements in Development Plans and Planning Applications
Development plans should identify significant transport infrastructure requirements for zoned land and key sites, with supporting works potentially identified at planning application stage through assessments and consultation.
For zoned land or key sites, the development plan should identify the requirements for significant new transport infrastructure or services necessary to facilitate the development. Supporting infrastructure works and/or mitigation measures needed to facilitate the specific scale and form of proposed development may, however, only be identified at the planning application stage. For example, as a result of an Environmental Impact Assessment, Transport Assessment or as part of the normal consultation process.
