Design and layout for sustainable transport access
Development design and layout must facilitate access by public transport, support walking and cycling, and meet the needs of people with disabilities and those with impaired mobility.
The design and layout of development should facilitate ease of access by public transport, support walking and cycling and meet the needs of people with disabilities and others whose mobility is impaired. Planning for alternative modes of transport and meeting the needs of disabled people should be built into designs at the earliest stage. This will assist in the promotion of sustainable movement patterns and the creation of a more inclusive environment.
