The Regional Transportation Strategy
The RTS aligns transport planning with the Regional Development Strategy's transportation vision and provides a comparative analysis of the existing transport network with investment priorities across the region for 2002-2012, serving as a framework for measuring progress.
The RTS supports the RDS by aligning transport planning with progress towards the achievement of its transportation vision for the region. As part of that process the RTS defines the characteristics of the transport system which will achieve that vision. It provides a comparative analysis of the existing transport network and defines investment priorities by transport mode and area across the region for the ten year period 2002-2012. The RTS provides a framework against which progress toward the achievement of the transportation vision can be measured.
