Sequential approach for housing site identification
The sequential approach searches for housing sites through development plans by prioritizing previously developed land and buildings within urban areas before considering greenfield extensions, maintaining compact settlement forms.
The sequential approach will be used in the search for and the identification of housing sites through the development plan process. This will focus on the re-use of previously developed land and buildings, underdeveloped and undeveloped land within the existing urban area, prior to considering greenfield settlement extensions. The main objective is to maintain compact town and village forms (SPG-HOU 4 – SPG-HOU 5 and SPG-ENV 6).
