Regional Housing Growth Targets and Distribution
The Regional Development Strategy sets a target of 60% of new housing to be located within existing urban areas of cities and towns over 5,000 population up to 2010, with regional housing need estimates of additional dwellings required by 2015 and 2025.
For the period up to the first review in 2010, the RDS sets a regional target of 60% of new housing to be located within existing urban areas of cities and towns of over 5,000 population. The carrying out of urban capacity studies goes some way to achieving this target.
