PPS 11 Planning and Waste Management·Page 26·6.27
Design of new landforms and final site contours
New landforms at waste sites must be designed to fit with existing features, be inherently stable, and have intended final landforms including gradients and drainage designed from the outset, accounting for ground conditions, landscaping, pollution control, and after-use options.
New landforms must be designed both to fit with the nature and scale of existing features in the vicinity and to be inherently stable. The intended final landform, including gradients and drainage of a site must be designed at the outset, taking account of existing ground conditions, landscaping and pollution control requirements, and options for reclamation and after-use. The Department will consult EHS and the Construction Service of the Department of Finance and Personnel for advice on these issues.
