Listed Building and Scheduled Monument Consent Requirements

There may be a need to obtain a separate listed building consent, under Article 44 of the Planning (NI) Order 1991, for any internal or external works to a listed building if these are judged by the Department to affect its character. Similarly, any works to, or affecting the site of, a scheduled monument require scheduled monument consent from the Department's Environment and Heritage Service under the Historic Monuments and Archaeological Objects (NI) Order 1995.
