Policy TEL 1: Control of Telecommunications Development
The Department will permit telecommunications development proposals that do not cause unacceptable damage to visual amenity or harm to environmentally sensitive features. Developers must demonstrate that proposals have been sited and designed to minimise visual and environmental impact, taking into account technical and operational constraints.
The Department will permit proposals for telecommunications development where such proposals, together with any necessary enabling works, will not result in unacceptable damage to visual amenity or harm to environmentally sensitive features or locations. Developers will therefore be required to demonstrate that proposals for telecommunications development, having regard to technical and operational constraints, have been sited and designed to minimise visual and environmental impact.
