Northern Ireland Executive Programme for Government - Communications Infrastructure
The Northern Ireland Executive commits to developing communications infrastructure to support competitive e-business capability and ensuring access to e-business opportunities across all areas and communities.
The Programme for Government (December 2001) indicates that the Executive will work to ensure that the communications infrastructure of Northern Ireland is developed to a standard that our economy requires. It advises: "Business is increasingly being conducted electronically. Therefore so that we can compete effectively, we will encourage the development of a cutting-edge telecommunications infrastructure. We will also ensure that access to e-business opportunities is available to all areas and all sections of our community. In this we recognise that our own development of e-Government has an important role to play."
