Employment and Skills Development in Major Planning Applications
Developers of major planning applications and significant employment-generating schemes should work with the Council's Economic Development team to deliver a proportion of construction and operational phase jobs through apprenticeships, work placements, or similar mechanisms targeted at local unemployed or underemployed residents.
Developers should note that Major Planning Applications and other significant employment generating schemes and uses provide important opportunities for employment training and skills development within our Borough. The Council's Economic Development team will therefore seek to work with the developers of such schemes to identify and agree how a proportion of the total jobs to be created during both the construction and operational phase of the development might be delivered via apprenticeships, work placements or similar mechanisms targeted at local unemployed or underemployed residents.
