Firefighting shafts for large buildings

Buildings with storeys of 900 m² or more at 18 m or higher above fire and rescue service access level must provide a minimum of two firefighting shafts, each containing a firefighting lift.

A minimum of two firefighting shafts (each containing a firefighting lift) should be provided to buildings with a storey that has a floor area of 900 m2 or more and a floor level 18 m or more above fire and rescue service access level.
