New paragraphs 6.1A and 6.1B - Firefighting facilities and Fire and Rescue Service consultation
Introduces guidance that building size is the main factor determining firefighting facilities needed, and advises consultation with Fire and Rescue Service when deviating from Section 6 guidance.
After paragraph 6.1, insert – "6.1A The main factor determining the facilities needed to assist the Fire and Rescue Service is the size of the building. Generally, most firefighting is carried out within the building.
6.1B If it is proposed to deviate from the guidance in Section 6, then it would be advisable to seek advice from the Fire and Rescue Service at the earliest opportunity.".
