Fire alarm provision for extensions and alterations to flats
When new habitable rooms or kitchens are added to a flat, an automatic fire detection system must be installed in the new room(s), circulation spaces connecting to the flat entrance, and any existing habitable room or kitchen opening onto those circulation spaces.
Where any new habitable room or kitchen is provided, an automatic fire detection and fire alarm system in accordance with paragraph 2.23 or 2.24 should be installed within the new habitable room or kitchen; the circulation spaces from the new room to the flat entrance door; and to any habitable room or kitchen opening on to the circulation spaces leading from the new room to the flat entrance door.
