Fire detection in extensions and alterations to dwellinghouses
Where new habitable rooms or kitchens are added to dwellinghouses, fire detection and alarm systems must be installed within those new spaces and the circulation spaces connecting them to the final exit.
Where any new habitable room or kitchen is provided, an automatic fire detection and fire alarm system in accordance with paragraph 2.23 or 2.24 should be installed within the new habitable room or kitchen; the circulation spaces from the new room to the final exit; and to any habitable room or kitchen opening on to the circulation spaces leading from the new room to the final exit.
