Vehicle barriers
Buildings with vehicle access to floors, roofs or circulation ramps must provide guarding at edges above adjacent levels, designed to BS 6180 and without hazardous projections.
In a building where vehicles have access to a floor, roof or circulation ramp, guarding should be provided to any edge of such area that is above the level of any adjacent floor, ground or route for vehicles. Such guarding should – (a) not present a hazard e.g. by containing projections on the impact face of the barrier; and (b) be designed and constructed in accordance with BS 6180.
