Maximum length and rise of ramps
The maximum permitted length and rise of a ramp depend on its gradient, as specified in Table 4.1, with some flexibility allowed in exceptional circumstances.
The maximum length of a ramp is dependent upon its gradient. Table 4.1 gives the maximum length of a ramp for a given gradient. There may be exceptional circumstances where a different gradient of ramp to that shown in Table 4.1 over a short distance is more appropriate e.g. where there are physical constraints imposed by an existing building.
