Landing exemption for external flights with low rise
A landing is not required between an external flight and a doorway if the rise is 600 mm or less and the door slides or opens away from the steps. For a single step between a garage and dwelling, a door may open over the step if part of its thickness aligns with the step's riser when closed.
A landing need not be provided between an external flight and a doorway if the rise of the flight is not more than 600 mm and the door slides or opens away from the steps. Where there is a single step between a garage and a dwelling, a door may open out over the step when the door, in the closed position, has some part of its thickness in line with the riser of the step.
