Landing provision and dimensions
A landing must be provided at the top and bottom of every flight with a width not less than the stair width and a depth not less than the stair width (for private stairs) or 1200 mm clear of door swing (for common stairs in blocks of dwellings).
A landing should be provided at the top and bottom of every flight.
The width of a landing should be not less than the width of the stair.
The going of a landing should be not less than –
(a) in a private stair, the width of the flight; and
(b) in a common stair in a block of dwellings, 1200 mm clear of any door swing onto them.
Part of a floor may be considered as a landing.
