Noise from amusement centres and management measures
Amusement centres may generate noise from operations and patron activity; sound proofing, restricted street-facing areas, and management plans for patron congregating and egress noise should be considered, particularly near sensitive premises.
Amusement centres may be noisy and although it may be possible to minimise noise by sound proofing and by limiting the area open to the street, the amount of noise likely to be caused directly or indirectly and its effects on nearby development should always be taken into account in considering the siting of such premises. A management plan may be required to address noise associated with patrons congregating outside to smoke and/or to manage noise during egress at closing time in the case of larger premises. This may, however, be of less consequence in an area where there is already considerable noise from other sources and/or are some distance from sensitive premises.
