Planning issues for restaurants, cafés and hot food takeaways
Applicants should consider planning issues and guidance for these uses at the earliest opportunity and ensure proposals comply with relevant planning policy requirements, with supporting information outlined in Appendix 7.
Restaurants, cafés and hot food takeaways raise a number of planning issues, and applicants should consider the guidance provided in relation to these issues at the earliest opportunity when submitting an application, to ensure that the proposal will be of highest quality and will comply with relevant planning policy requirements. The SPPS also seeks to improve health and well-being through the provision of local policies. The following sections address each of the key planning issues and set out the type of supporting information that is likely to be required as part of a planning application in order to allow each of these issues to be fully considered. Any planning application received for a restaurant, café or hot food takeaway which is not in any of the locations specified below, will be determined on its own merits, in accordance with broader policy, relevant development plans and other material considerations. Applications for restaurants, cafés or hot food takeaways should be accompanied by the relevant information as outlined in Appendix 7.
