Council Protection of Evening and Night-time Economy Viability

The council will seek to protect existing evening and night-time economy noise-generating uses to ensure that they remain viable, and can continue to operate or grow without unreasonable restrictions being placed on them due to new noise sensitive residential developments. It is critical to ensure that established cultural and leisure venues can continue to be viable in their present form without the prospect of licensing restrictions, due for example to noise complaints from new uses or occupiers.
