Local Development Plan framework
The Local Development Plan comprises the Plan Strategy and Local Policies Plan, establishing the planning policy framework for the council area including support for the evening and night time economy.
The Local Development Plan comprises the Plan Strategy (PS), and the Local Policies Plan (LPP). The Planning Act (Northern Ireland) 2011 establishes primacy of the Local Development Plan in the assessment of planning applications. The PS provides the planning policy framework for the Council area across a range of topics. It sets out the vision for Belfast, as well as the objectives and strategic policies required to deliver that vision. The suite of topic-based operational policies includes the support for developing the evening and night time economy.
